Courses: Mountain Course

An advanced course for pilots seeking the skills, knowledge and techniques demanded by high density altitudes, rugged terrain and mountain winds. Training available in the Schweizer 300C, McDonnell-Douglas 500D, or the customer's aircraft. This is an actual FAA Approved Certified Course!
Our local Mountain ranges allow us to practice at elevations of 2000' MSL up to 10,000' MSL all within 10 miles of our airport. This course was initially developed for the U.S. Customs Service with emphasis placed on decision making, determining what constitutes a good landing zone, how to read the wind, what to avoid, and most important, POWER MANAGEMENT.
We recommend 5 flight hours over 2 days and 1/2 day of ground instruction.
